Location
The 16th IBA conference will be held in Riva del Garda, a charming little town located in the southern part of Trentino north of Italy, at the upper end of Lake Garda and at the bottom of the Brenta Dolomites. The territory boasts a special climate which makes it the most northern Mediterranean region in Europe. The town offers a very relaxed atmosphere, and also has the best equipped conference facility inTrentino. The conference site can be viewed at www.palacongressi.it.

Travel
Closest airports: Verona (90 km), Venice (195 km) and Milan (245 km). Organizers are planning to arrange a bus service from Verona airport to the conference site. Riva del Garda is connected by bus with Rovereto, the closest train station on the Verona-Brennero railway.

Where to Stay
Given its tourist vocation, the town offers a wide selection of accommodations and restaurants, all very close to the conference hall.
Rooms/beds will be reserved in several hotels. Three different kinds of accommodation will be available: with high, medium and cheaper standard. A block of rooms will be reserved at a special rate for conference attendants. Close to the conference site (5' by foot) there is also a hostel. Four camping sites are moreover available; two are on the lake shore (www.campingallago.com www.bavarianet.it), about 10' by foot from the conference site, while two  (www.campingbrione.com www.villasperanza-rivadelgarda.it) are about 15'-20' far, at the foot of the hill "Monte Brione".

Registration
The organizing secretariat will provide an on-line form to register for the conference at the web site www.orikata.it (on-line events) by following the instructions given.The form will also provide information on accommodations.  Special conference rate will be provided for early reservation.

Conference schedule
Oral and poster presentations are scheduled on September 27, 28, 30 and on October 1. Field trip excursions are scheduled for Thursday, September 29. An Ice-breaker is planned for Monday, September 26: details will be provided as the information is available.

Presentations
There will be 3 types of presentation, 1) invited speakers (25 min + 5 min for questions); 2) oral presentations (15 min + 5 min for questions), and 3) posters.
Deadline for submitting abstracts is
30 April 2005.

Excursions
Field trip excursions are scheduled for Thursday, September 29, 2005. A field trip will be to the close bear area in the Brenta Dolomites, where the last remnant bears of the Alps still survive and where10 individuals were reintroduced from Slovenia between 1999 and 2002. Further field trips are planned to other amazing naturalistic and artistic localities of Trentino, and to Venice. An excursion page will be available soon.
